Keith Culliton: A History of Progress, a Record of Leadership

A lot has changed at CULLITON over the years. Not surprising for a business that began in 1932.

But there are some things that haven't changed, too. Just ask Keith Culliton, the company’s highly-respected secretary-treasurer and former general manager, who’s been here since 1947.

"Well, for one thing the jobs we take on today are very different than the jobs we did in the '40s, '50s and '60s," he says.

"We were a small, reliable plumbing contractor with commercial, industrial and residential customers who were fairly close to home back then. Now we do all the mechanical systems. The jobs are a whole lot bigger and faster and they're more complex. We also cover a much wider service area."

Like most business leaders with more than 50 years experience, he’s also watched technology revolutionize everything from payroll and scheduling to the way the company communicates.

So what hasn’t changed? According to Keith, it's the quality of leadership.

"We’ve always had smart people leading this company," he acknowledges, "but I credit my son Tim Culliton, who’s our president, with making it the huge success it is today."

Keith is also quick to recognize the other leaders out in the field, the skilled and highly-trained CULLITON tradespeople with a solid track record of completing jobs on time and on budget.

"I have to pinch myself when I come in and see and hear what’s happening now," Keith admits. "I’m tremendously proud of what this company has achieved."
